💡 Currency Converter Guide & FAQ

Q. What is the mid-market rate?

A reference or mid-market rate is a starting point for currency conversion. It usually differs from customer cash, transfer, or card rates because providers add a spread and sometimes a separate fee. Results here are comparison estimates, not transaction quotes.

Q. How do quick presets like ¥10,000 (10k JPY) work?

Click any quick preset button ($10, $100, 10k JPY) at the top to instantly apply that value and calculate exchange rates across all major world currencies with the same provided rates.

Q. How do exchange spreads and preferential discounts work?

For example, if the reference rate is KRW 1,350 per USD and the spread is 1.75%, buying USD 100 would be KRW 135,000 plus KRW 2,362.50 before any discount. A 90% discount on the spread leaves 10%, or KRW 236.25, for an estimated KRW 135,236.25. Providers may calculate differently or add separate fees.

How conversion works

Select an amount and base currency to compare currencies. Current rates come from ExchangeRate-API, not a live trade feed. Bank fees and exchange discounts are excluded.

Check the rate date

Check the provider date and data status. Example rates may appear when network requests fail. Verify rates with your financial institution before a transaction.
